Matariki Waiti

What is Waiti?

The flow of the lakes and rivers streaming down the side of the mountain, like a waterfall falling down glistening in the shining sun, hearing the sound of the waterfall crashing down into the river.splashes glore, gradually flowing side to side, colliding with the rocks all the way down. That’s Waiti.

Waiti, rivers and lakes.
Glistening in the shining sun.
Miles of stars away

Zero waste T2 W2

Does zero waste take Awapuni school seriously.I absolutely agree that we do take zero waste seriously, and here are several reasons why.

Firstly. I strongly agree that Awapuni school takes zero waste seriously because for nearly a whole term we have been learning about it. So there’s no wasting your zero waste knowledge and throw it away. The research of zero waste comes handy to see which rubbish goes in which that’s why we hanged up all this info around our classroom.

Secondly. Green team comes around our classrooms and checks our rubbish and they also check if our goose paper is tidy. They even probably spend their own working time to go out into the garden and plant stuff for our school environment. For instance the green team also help our garden and environment by not cutting them down for no reason, because the trees and plants like to get the carbon and like to absorb it then breathe it out so we can breathe fresh air for us to live. The green team for example we reduce our carbon footprint by planting the trees and plants.

Finally. We take zero waste seriously by being kind to our environment and picking up our rubbish and putting it into our lunch boxes to take home. Every time we leave home to go to school we always check that we have turned off everything is turned off so we don’t waste electricity.

For these reasons this is why i think that Awapuni is taking zero waste very seriously. So this is why and how Awapuni takes zero waste seriously
